But still we dont know she is hearing or not sometime we think she hear big sounds, she is going normal school now. so please help us how to devlop her speech thank you I hope you will help us

Dear Mr. Asalam
You have provided your daughter with an excellent cochlear implant and you want to be sure that she is hearing well with it. Samantha was deafened by meningitis which can destroy the cochlea (the sense organ for sound). Physicians will always do a CT scan to determine if the cochlea is intact and how many electrodes can be inserted. So your first question is to your child's surgeon. You need to know the status of her cochlea and the amount of electrodes he was able to implant. The next question is to her audiologist. You want to know that each electrode was mapped individually. After the implant was activated, your daughter should be tested in a sound proof test booth to confirm her responses to sounds. Was this test done? Finally, you need to be doing the Ling Six Sound Test with Suna every morning when she puts on her implant. This test will confirm to you that she is aware of all the sounds across the broad spectrum of speech. You can access this test at our website (www.jtc.org) by going to Correspondence Course and Special Papers.
Please talk to your child's surgeon and audiologist. Have Suna tested in a sound proof booth. And use the Ling Test every day. If Samantha is not responding to sounds, you want to be working with her audiologist, and continued mapping of her implant may be necessary.
If you have more questions or need more information, don't hesitate to ask. I want your little one to hear well with her implant.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Sutherland
