Community Hearing Screening
Children birth through age 5 are screened for possible hearing loss and ear conditions which can interfere with a child's ability to learn and communicate. The preschool years are a critical time in the development of spoken language. Parents and preshool staff are provided with information and referrals for children at risk for hearing loss. Audiometrists go to local preschools and day care centers in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The Program serves over 16,000 children in 400 schools. Ask your school administrator to schedule an appointment for a free hearing screening in your child's school by contacting Viola Driscoll-Snyder, vdriscoll@jtc.org, Hearing Screening Coordinator. Learn more by downloading our Hearing Screening Program Brochure and Can Your Baby Hear Milestone Checklist. If Your School Has Already Contacted JTCHere are some downloadable forms to help you prepare for your screening day: Appointment Confirmation Form | Permission Slip (English and Spanish) Here is what some schools are saying about our program
