Arriving in Los Angeles

JTC Summer Sessions are designed for families to learn the skills they need to support their children’s learning.  The M-F schedule is full of meetings, observations and appointments.  To provide families with easy access to the clinic and to create opportunities for families to learn from one another, apartments are obtained from a local university.  For minimal daily fees, families can stay in this nearby housing and walk down the block to JTC!

The apartments available for families have two bedrooms, a living/dining room combination, kitchen, and private bathroom. Families can prepare meals in the apartment. The Parents Auxiliary of John Tracy Clinic provides kitchen kits with "bare necessity" cooking utensils and dishes. Many fast food restaurants are within an easy walk. Coin operated laundry facilities are available in the building. Cribs, car seats (mandatory in the state of California for children six and under), strollers, televisions and roll-away beds are available by making prior arrangements directly with a rental company that JTC can suggest.  Each apartment has a telephone for local calls.  Internet wireless is available at JTC but not in the apartments.  Families can receive also mail at JTC during their stay. The Summer Session Coordinator provides families with more specific details.

Usually there is a weekend initial meeting, one social event on a week night and one picnic on a weekend day.  Families are free to relax, visit or sightsee during the times they are not at JTC.  Visitor links provides information on nearby attractions. An Interactive map is at locations
