Arriving in Los Angeles for the Summer Sessions

Arriving in Los Angeles

For those families who will be staying at the Annenberg Apartments, proceed directly to the apartments at 711 West 27th Street, Los Angeles, and follow directions posted on the outside of lobby door for check-in assistance.

Making Travel Plans

The office at the Annenberg Apartments is not open on a 24-hour basis, so it is essential that information on your arrival and departure (dates and times) be received at least ONE WEEK prior to your Summer Session.

Please plan to arrive between 9:00A.M. and 6:00P.M. We realize, of course, that it is not always possible to plan your arrival as you might like. Should you get to Los Angeles after 6:00P.M., plan to get a hotel near the airport and then come to the apartments the next morning.

When you arrive at the Annenberg Apartments, instructions will be posted. In the event of a problem you can use the campus telephone outside the building to contact the university security office at 213-740-6000.

Traveling By Car

John Tracy Clinic and the Annenberg Apartments are close to the Santa Monica and the Harbor Freeways, about 10 minutes from the downtown area.

If you are traveling on the Santa Monica Freeway, Interstate 10, from either direction, exit on Hoover and turn right. Turn left on Adams Blvd.

For those traveling on the Harbor Freeway, Interstate 110, (either northbound or southbound), take the "Adams Boulevard" exit. If you are traveling NORTH, turn left when you exit. If you are traveling SOUTH, the Adams exit will put you directly on Figueroa. At Adams Blvd., turn right.

The Annenberg Apartment Building is just east of John Tracy Clinic; and it fronts on both Adams Boulevard and 27th Street (see map).

Traveling By Air

From Los Angeles International Airport to the Summer Session housing and John Tracy Clinic, the fare for a taxi may be the most economical means of transportation if there are three or more traveling together. If there are only two in your party, you may want to take one of the many shuttle services available from the airport. They are available curbside, and they provide door-to-door service. No prior reservations are necessary.

If you rent a car for your stay, ask for directions to Interstate 105 East. Take this freeway to the Harbor Freeway (Interstate 110) North. For further directions from the Harbor Freeway, please see the information above.
