Lodging & Rentals

Annenburg

The apartments provided for those participating in our Summer Program each consist of two bedrooms, a living/dining room combination, kitchen, and private bathroom. Each bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination, sink and toilet. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, a sink and a gas oven/range. There is no microwave. Individual apartments do not come equipped with a television.

Parking Permits

For those who will be driving, parking permits must be obtained upon arrival. A secure parking garage is on the lower level of the apartment building. The cost for the permit changes on July 1, and the new fee has not yet been set. It will be approximately $20.00 per week. The permits are not mailed in advance. Please purchase your permit when you obtain your apartment assignment and keys. The staff will assist you.

Meals

There is no cafeteria service. You MAY prepare your own meals in the apartment. The Parents Auxiliary of John Tracy Clinic provides kitchen kits with "bare necessity" cooking utensils and dishes. You may request a kit on the CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION form. The kit will be in your apartment upon arrival. Please feel free to bring along any household or personal items to make your stay more comfortable. As you pack for the trip to Los Angeles, there are a few small items that other families have suggested: an extra dishtowel (one will be in th box of kitchen items provided for you); favorite soap; a can opener; a small radio, and an alarm clock. Past families have also suggested extra towels and a blanket for trips to the beach.

While most families prepare their own meals, many fast food restaurants are within an easy walk from the Clinic and the apartments. Most are located on Figueroa, but there are also some in University Village. In the Village you will also find many shops as well as a large market for grocery shopping. A second large supermarket is only a few blocks away, as well.
