More than 110 parents and children took part in a weekend filled to the brim with fun, discovery and friendship at our inaugural JTC Family Camp over the weekend of March 24th – 26th. Held at scenic Camp Hess Kramer in Malibu, the camp’s activities included a variety of age appropriate group sports, a ropes and climbing challenge course, nature discovery hikes, dance workshops, arts and crafts, science workshops, archery, kite flying, and much more. Parents participated in sessions that offered insights on preparing their children with hearing loss for transition to college and the workplace, the latest in assistive device technologies, a group sharing session, as well as a beginner’s yoga and relaxation program.
John Tracy Clinic thanks our lead sponsors – Quota International, Monrovia-Duarte Chapter members and MED-EL Corporation – for making the camp possible. Additional support was provided by Cochlear Americas, Advanced Bionics and Scott Family Foundation. We also thank all of the volunteer counselors, presenters and staff as well as the American Red Cross for contributing their time and talents to a successful first-ever JTC Family Camp!
