The Speech and Language Pathologist conducts specialized assessments and provides therapy services designed for individual children and their parents. Treat children with speech, language, voice and fluency disorders; conduct assessments; write comprehensive reports, participate in IEPs/IFSPs, create, maintain and monitor appropriate Benchmarks/Goals and Present Levels of Progress; collaborate with other members of the JTC Staff in different departments (Educational Services/Counseling & Audiology Team: Teachers, LSL AVT/AVEd, Audiologists, MFT/Counselor); participate in Friday Family School and the preschool classroom as needed, as well as in parent classes; prepare and present parent classes as assigned; assist and demonstrate to parents as needed in the general setting; mentor and supervise graduate students in our Teacher Education Program as well as SLP interns and volunteers; monitor all authorizations (CCS and Insurance) for SLP therapy services on current caseload or possible prospect of caseload (possible incoming children, pending for authorization, and renewal of authorization), create therapy notes to track all SLP sessions, participate in staff meetings; monitor amplification.
